One of these tornadoes missed my father's house last night by about two blocks. The roads are blocked and the power's out, so maybe he's raiding the freezer and grilling out. I would be. It's a bummer, but at least he's all right.

At this rate, by the end of the summer Tennessee may be nothing but a memory.

Last night I woke at about one a.m. to a guy outside screaming about niggers, carrying a baseball bat. And I think to myself... what a wonderful world...
